Serve Weekly at Sophia’s Angels Kitchen
Groups of students at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School serve weekly at Sophia’s Angels Kitchen, a local soup kitchen that provides meals to the homeless and low-income community of the Peoria area. With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, Sophia’s Kitchen wanted to provide a homemade Thanksgiving meal to those who did not have the privilege of one. The Thanksgiving menus featured turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry salad, and pie. SVdP students joyfully served meals, cleaned tables, refilled drinks, washed the dishes, and filled orders during the annual Thanksgiving dinner. Serving a record high of over 620 meals this Thanksgiving, our students learned the fulfillment that comes from serving others and to be truly grateful for the gifts they have.
