Mrs. Joseph is a 4th grade teacher at St. Vincent de Paul. She graduated from Illinois State University and earned her degree in Special Education. Mrs. Joseph began as a resource teacher at Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest, Illinois. She then moved to a 3rd grade position in the same district at Sheridan Elementary School. Mrs. Joseph got married and moved to Chicago where she taught 3rd grade at Frances Xavier Warde Catholic School. She recently moved back home to Peoria with her husband and three boys to be closer to family.
Catholic education is very important to Mrs. Joseph. Not only will she be teaching here at St. Vincent de Paul School, but her boys will be students here as well. Mrs. Joseph believes that raising her own children to be followers of Christ is just as important as helping her young students to be followers of Christ as well. Her favorite saint is St. Teresa of Avila and her favorite quote by St. Teresa is, “All blessings come to us through our Lord. He will teach us, for in beholding His life we find that He is the best example.”
Mrs. Joseph enjoys being a wife and a mother. She has 3 boys ages 14, 12 and 10 which keep her quite busy. She enjoys Bible study, gardening and watching her boys play all kinds of sports. Her favorite vacation was her trip to Rome and Tuscany.
Mrs. Joseph is an encourager. Her classroom has always been a positive, welcoming environment for her students. She believes that every child has unique God-given gifts and it’s her job to bring out the best in each and every one of them.
