Mrs. Smith is the St. Vincent art teacher for the Kindergarten through 8th grade and has been an educator since 2013. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Education from Bradley University.
Mrs. Smith exercises her Catholic faith daily in her classroom by starting every class with a prayer along with introducing a variety of religious art projects throughout the year. Her favorite saint is St. Luke the Evangelist since he has painted many portraits of Baby Jesus and the mother Mary.
When she is not teaching, Mrs. Smith enjoys time at home with her husband and two kids, and a variety of family pets. She also creates a wide assortment of art, ranging from ceramics to paintings and metal castings. You may also see her participating or volunteering in local art-related activities.
Mrs. Smith encourages uniqueness and independence as students create a variety of art projects they can proudly display throughout the year. One of her favorite quotes is from a well-known painter, “We don’t make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.” ― Bob Ross
