Mrs. Buck is the administrative assistant at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School. She has worked in the office for the principal and teachers since 2005. She attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO for 4 & ½ years where she graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree. That ½ year was a summer in which they were required to complete dissection of the human body! She loved it! She worked as a physical therapist for seven years until her first child was born and then she stayed home with her three children until she started working at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School when her youngest was in first grade. Mrs. Buck is a longtime parish member of St. Vincent de Paul, and all 3 of her children are alumni of both St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, and Peoria Notre Dame High School.
Mrs. Buck practices her faith daily both at home and at school. Her favorite saint is St. Therese of Liseux since she taught that little actions done with love are more important than ones done for glory or out of obedience. She loves her teachings of simplicity even in prayer life and how the “little flower” loved taking seriously Jesus’ request to pray to God in simple, hidden, and honest ways. Her favorite prayer is the “Hail Mary” since Mary is such a pure, beautiful role model for mothers and she constantly asks Mary for guidance in her life as a mother.
When she is not at school working, Mrs. Buck enjoys time at home with her husband and three children. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, bike riding, and reading. Her favorite foods are parmesan chicken, and salads. Mrs. Buck feels so blessed to be married since 1989 and given three beautiful gifts from God: 2 boys and 1 girl!
Mrs. Buck’s favorite quote hangs on her refrigerator: “Good Morning! This is God I will be handling all your problems today. I will not need your help. So have a good day! I love you!” She tends to worry a lot so this quote helps her to remember God has a plan for all of His children and will take care of everything.
