Third and Fourth Grade Science Lessons
Mrs. Kraft Brings Guest Presenter to Third and Fourth Grade Classes!

The third and fourth grade classes had a fun day of learning about Biodiversity with Dr. Wilson from Mrs. Kraft’s alma mater, Texas A&M University.  Dr. Wilson is a researcher for the Center for Mathematics and Science Education and has made a career out of science education, outreach and inquiry, and has inspired countless school children (and adults) across the nation to learn more about math and science and the many related possibilities through hands-on projects and presentations.

Mrs. Kraft was honored to take a short class from him over the summer through the Department of Agriculture Ag in the Classroom program and was able to secure his visit to the school. The students got to learn more about complete and incomplete metamorphosis by interacting with hissing cockroaches and giant mealworms, they learned more about how space travel affects traits using “astronaut goggles” to simulate vision changes after six months in space. They even got a fun introduction to energy transfer and transformation.
