First Diocese of Peoria to receive this award in 2010
The first school in the Diocese of Peoria to receive this award, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School was named National Blue Ribbon School in 2010 by the US Department of Education. Recognized as an exemplary high-performing school, St. Vincent’s was one of only 50 private schools and 254 public schools nationwide to receive the honor in 2010.
Founded in 1982, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ academic achievement. A National Blue Ribbon School is a mark of excellence in education recognized by everyone from parents to policy-makers in thousands of communities.
